One of the things I was reading about on your website on how to eliminate child poverty was to make childcare more affordable. It is true that Quebec has done that which is great but what I would love to see and what I would like to urge you to promote is more funding to allow mothers to stay at home with their children. I have worked in daycare centres over the years and have found that the quality of care is no where near that of a mothers care. Often times people leave their children at daycare to go to their 9$ an hour job and end up paying that amount an hour anyway for their childcare. Not to mention the cost of travelling to and from work and the time it takes away from your precious little one and the stress of running around all day. I would love to see the government give funding or tax breaks to new parents to allow them to actually be with there children and make sure they are well fed and taken care of. I think that would help aleviate a lot of the loneliness and neglect children face today as well as the issue of poverty. Thank you for what you are doing!!
